- Girl Scouts of the USA is launching a new cookie for the 2026 season: Exploremores, a sandwich cookie inspired by rocky road ice cream — filled with chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond–flavored crème.
- Cookie sales support Girl Scouts by funding local programs, events, and financial aid, while also teaching leadership and entrepreneurial skills through the Cookie Program.
- Exploremores and other classic favorites like Thin Mints and Caramel deLites will be available both online and at local booths, with sales opening during the 2026 season.
Girl Scouts of the USA announced that Exploremores, a rocky road ice cream–inspired sandwich cookie, will join the lineup for the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie season. “Filled with delicious flavors of chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond–flavored crème, Exploremores reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout,” the team shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. It will be available on the cookie sheets of Girl Scouts across the United States, as well as online and in person at local booths, during the upcoming season.
“We’re so excited to be releasing our new cookie, Exploremores, this cookie season,” Wendy Lou, the chief revenue officer at Girl Scouts USA, shared with Food & Wine. “Exploremores celebrates Girl Scouts’ long tradition of loving the outdoors, embracing new adventures, and reflects the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout. We’re sure it’s going to be a hit this season and can’t wait for everyone to try.”
Of course, there are plenty of returning favorites to buy alongside these new cookies, including Caramel deLites and the always-better-when-frozen Thin Mints. (If you haven’t tried this hack, give it a shot. It delivers.)
While it might seem like just nice little treats, the organization wants to remind everyone that it’s actually much more meaningful than a dessert.
“Each cookie season, through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, girls push their limits, embrace challenges, think creatively, and believe in their own potential,” they shared. “While earning skill-building badges such as the My First Cookie Business, My Cookie Customer, and My Cookie Team badges, girls acquire leadership and entrepreneurial tools needed for brighter futures. As entrepreneurs, girls master the ability to set goals, make decisions, manage money, develop people skills, and learn business ethics.”
As for where all that cash goes, Girl Scouts of America explained that all proceeds from cookie sales stay local with Girl Scout councils and troops to help fund life-changing programs, experiences, and learnings throughout the year. The Girl Scouts Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas further clarified in a release that these local councils can use the funds to support financial aid programs for some of their members, cover administrative costs, organize events, and plan trips for the members.
As one troop leader shared on Reddit, they used their money for a trip to Chuck E. Cheese’s with the girls, registration fees for the entire troop to attend Camporee, phone cards for the Red Cross to distribute to troops overseas, a make-it-and-take-it day at the craft store, a weekend camping trip, and $100 for each of their troop’s graduating seniors.
“Every purchase of Exploremores — and the entire lineup of iconic Girl Scout Cookies — helps girls unbox a world of possibilities, one cookie at a time,” the organization noted. “With each cookie box sold, consumers are supporting Girl Scouts as they learn, grow, and thrive through all of life’s adventures.”
