The New York Giants released the following eight players ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster deadline:
- WR Jordan Bly
- ILB K.J. Cloyd
- CB O’Donnell Fortune
- ILB Dyontae Johnson
- C Jimmy Morrissey
- WR Zach Pascal
- WR Montrell Washington
- OL Jaison Williams
The moves came this morning after the Giants wrapped up the preseason last night with a 42-10 victory over the Patriots.
NFL clubs must cut down to their initial 53-man roster by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, paring down from the current limit of 90.
The claiming period for players placed on waivers at the final roster reduction will expire at noon the following day. The Giants are third in the claiming order on the waiver wire. After that, clubs may establish a practice squad of 17 players, as long as one player qualifies as international.
The Giants open the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 7 at Washington.
