Cam Skattebo’s fantastic rookie season sadly came to an end on Sunday, as the New York Giants’ rookie running back suffered a dislocated ankle during his team’s 38-20 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Eagles’ fans gave him a nice ovation as he was carted off the field, and after the game the team’s chief of security, Dom DiSandro, also dropped by the hospital to deliver him some food:
It’s been a rough season for the Giants on the injury front, somewhat tempering the excitement that rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has provided. Superstar wideout Malik Nabers is also out for the year, leaving the Giants without two of their most dynamic offensive weapons.
It was clear after the game that the Skattebo injury was pretty devastating for the team:
In eight games, Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns, adding a level of physicality and attitude to the team’s running attack. He added 24 catches for 207 yards and another two scores.
