Last month, Samsung revealed that it plans to launch the first Galaxy smartphone with a tri-folding display, which may arrive as the Galaxy Z TriFold, by the end of this year. So far, there has been only one leak about the device’s hardware. Spotted in One UI 8, it was an animation showing how to use the phone’s NFC functionality, which shed light on its form factor, design, and camera setup.
Well, today we have another leak about the device’s hardware, and it confirms that the phone will support wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, NFC payments.
Samsung’s first tri-folding phone may have wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, and NFC payments
On X, @TechHighest has posted three videos about Samsung’s upcoming tri-folding phone, which seem to be official animations about the device. The first one demonstrates how to charge the Galaxy Z TriFold using a wireless charger, which confirms that it will have wireless charging. The second video shows how you can charge your Galaxy Buds using the phone, which confirms that it will have reverse wireless charging as well. The third video illustrates how to make payments using NFC.

It isn’t surprising to see the Galaxy Z TriFold supporting wireless charging, as it is a necessity nowadays and most mid-range and high-end phones offer it. However, knowing that it supports reverse wireless charging is a relief. That’s because foldable phones have less space for components compared to traditional devices, and with more and more people asking for slimmer phones, there was always a chance that Samsung could have skipped reverse wireless charging to make the phone thinner.
Recently, we also got to see how the Galaxy Z TriFold’s multitasking capability but that’s about it. We don’t have anymore details about the device. Hopefully, Samsung will reveal something about it at its press conference at the IFA 2025 event.
