Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold isn’t the first of its kind, but it’s still going to be interesting seeing what it brings to the table as the first device that maybe, possibly could be sold outside of China. Through a new software leak, we’re getting a chance to see how Samsung’s new foldable unfolds.
Posted by Twitter/X user @TechHighest, a handful of new animations from Samsung’s software show off the Galaxy Z TriFold to show where the NFC and wireless charging elements line up. Unsurprisingly, they’re in the “back” portion of the device alongside the camera module.
These animations are mostly showing existing information, but one of them shows a key detail in how the TriFold actually folds and unfolds for the first time.
In the animation showing the location of the wireless charger, we can see the Galaxy Z TriFold closing up from left to right. The first panel folds on top of the second, before that one also folds on top of the next. That’s different from Huawei’s Mate tri-fold devices, which fold in a “Z” shape, ironically. It’s unclear what this design would look like in person, but it’s certainly interesting to say the least. It’s also different from how prior leaks described it.
