A few days ago, we learned that Samsung’s next Edge smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Edge, will offer two improvements over its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Edge. The first will be a thinner design, and the second will be a larger battery. However, we didn’t have any numbers. Well, today we have exact figures about the Galaxy S26 Edge’s battery, along with its design details, and there’s some great news in the store for you.
On X, @kro_one claims that the Galaxy S26 Edge will have a 4,500mAh battery with 45W charging speed. That’s a 15% bump in the battery capacity and an 80% lift in the charging speed. The tipster also claims that the phone’s bezels (around the display) will be “minimised to the extreme.” So, expect it to look even sleeker than this year’s model. Lastly, they says that Samsung will launch the phone late this year or early next year.
We doubt if the brand will launch the phone in 2025 because it usually launches a new Galaxy S lineup in February, and the Edge model will either come with it or at a later stage. There are at least seven months to go for the Galaxy S26 Edge launch, and a lot could change during this time. So, take the latest leak with a pinch of salt.
There are two main drawbacks with the Galaxy S25 Edge. First, it has a smaller battery than most smartphones in the price range. Second, it lacks a telephoto camera, which is something that the other phones in the segment offer. Samsung seems to have fixed the first issue. We hope that it also addresses the second one.
