Galactic Is a Quirky Sci-Fi Fusion of Star Wars and Tarantino

It’s not often that a publisher pitches a comic by asking, “What if George Lucas and Quentin Tarantino f@#&ed and had a baby?” That’s one reason we’ve got our eye on Galactic, a new sci-fi series from DSTLRY that’s billed as being a perfect fit for fans of both Star Wars and adults-only indie comics like Saga and Sex Criminals.

IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of Galactic #1. Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:

Galactic is written by Curt Pires, whom you might know from All-New Ultimates or various Comixology Originals series like Youth and Endless. The series is illustrated by Amilcar Pinna (X-Men). The first issue features covers by Pinna, Tula Lotay, James Stokoe, Dalton Rose, and Sara Pichelli.

Here’s DSTLRY’s official summary of Galactic:

What if George Lucas and Quentin Tarantino f@#&ed and had a baby? That baby would be Curt Pires and Amilcar Pinna’s GALACTIC. An ultraviolent interstellar romance that tells the story of a roguish bounty hunter hired to bring back a Princess on a death-bender on a hippy planet, and inadvertently find themselves caught in the crossfire of an intergalactic war.

And maybe, just maybe, falling in love along the way!

Did we mention there’s a talking dog who pilots the starship?!

Galactic #1 will be released on November 26, with a final order cutoff of October 6. You can preorder a copy digitally on the DSTLRY app or at your local comic shop.

In other DSTLRY news, the company recently revealed Endeavour, a Lord of the Flies-style thriller that resurrects the infamous doomed ship for another voyage.
