What a way to start the season. Bayern Munich opened up the 2025/26 campaign with a thrilling 6-0 win over RB Leipzig. In a near perfect performance, Bayern simply outclassed Leipzig in every way possible in Munich. While there was plenty of highs for the Bavarians, it is hard to find a redeeming trait for the Red Bulls after this one.
Michael Olise is a future Ballon d’Or candidate
Bayern Munich fans cannot sing enough praise for this young man. Michael Olise has been everything hyped up to be and more for Bayern thus far. The best player for Bayern Munich is now putting himself in the conversation for the world’s best.
Luis Díaz is a cut above Kingsley Coman
Kingsley Coman was an extremely flashy player with great dribbling. However, that very rarely led to goals created. Díaz is the opposite of Coman. No flash, all scoring threat. At the end of the day, Bayern needs this from their wingers. Díaz is clearly a step above Coman from a first look, but has lots to prove still to warrant his price tag.
The attack won’t be a problem (if healthy)
Bayern Munich’s attack is comprised of some of Europe’s best talent. Musiala, Kane, Olise, and Díaz are genuinely in argument for best in the world. That was evident today. The only issue is that Bayern will likely lean heavily on their top players, which was evident from later substitutions, instead of awarding fresh talent considerable minutes.
RB Leipzig will miss out on European football
The Rasenballsport club looks like a shell of their former selves. Lots of talent is missing from this squad, and the Leipzig side will likely struggle to compete with the Bundesliga’s best, as evident from today’s performance. The club needs a large overhaul at the moment.
