Fortnite servers are taken offline immediately following the end of the Alien Overlords event.
Fortnite developer Epic Games is about to bring The Simpsons to the game, although the good news ends there.
According to Epic Games, Fortnite update 38.00 is coming to PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and Android on November 1. It adds a brand new map, a new Simpsons Battle Pass and lots of new gameplay tweaks.
Unfortunately, however, the good news ends there, because the new content won’t be available until server maintenance comes to an end.
Fortnite will be taken offline after the conclusion of the end of season event, which you can read about below.

When does Fortnite server downtime begin?
Fortnite servers will be taken offline immediately following the conclusion of the ‘Welcome to Our Alien Overlords’ end of season event.
Specifically, Fortnite servers will be taken offline at 3.30pm GMT UK time. That’s 11.30 EDT and 8.30am PDT.
The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview about what to expect from the new season, which includes a host of new Simpsons skins.
“Following the Welcome, Our Alien Overlords live event tomorrow at 11 AM ET, Fortnite will go into downtime at 11:30 AM ET (3:30 PM UTC):
“The v38.00 update drops later the same day, taking us to Springfield!”
When are Fortnite servers scheduled to be back online for The Simpsons season?
According to the Fortnite server status page, server downtime is currently scheduled to last for 5-hours.
This means the game should be back online for the new Simpsons season between 8 – 8.30pm GMT UK time. That’s 4 – 4.30pm EDT and 1 – 1.30pm PDT.
