Fortnite Leak Reveals Simpsons-Themed Map for Next Season

Fortnite’s upcoming collaboration with The Simpsons reportedly includes a detailed map of Springfield, designed in the animated show’s iconic art style. Springfield is easily one of the most recognizable towns in animated television history, and Fortnite may be looking to capitalize on that familiar setting.

Collaborations with other IPs make up a big part of Fortnite‘s appeal. With Halloween season in full swing, Poppy Playtime‘s Huggy Wuggy is expected to join Fortnite on October 23, while a collaboration with Scooby-Doo has been going on since October 11.

The Simpsons’ Springfield Map is Reportedly Coming to Fortnite

Following rumors from early summer that a Fortnite crossover with The Simpsons was in the works for a mini-season, Epic Games has since confirmed that it will be happening, starting on November 1. Now, new information suggests that the mini-season will include a map that is “fully Springfield,” referencing the animated show’s hometown locale. The leak regarding the fully Springfield-themed map has been shared by at least a few reputable Fortnite leakers, including Hypex on Twitter, who in the past few months has shared other tidbits of Simpsons update rumors, including the addition of themed car cosmetics. The leaker has been predicting as early as September that a Springfield map would be a likely addition to the mini-season, but the new post expresses much more confidence that it will be happening.

The wording of the post leaves some question as to how true to the show the map will be, if the rumor turns out to be true. While the nuclear power plant originally owned by Mr. Burns is mentioned as a point of interest, it’s not yet clear what other local landmarks players will be able to discover. One other question players may be asking is whether Epic Games is building an authentic map of Springfield or simply highlighting some of its iconic locations using its own custom layout.

Simpsons Movie Ending

The crossover comes at an opportune time for the animated franchise. In late September, Disney and 20th Century Fox announced that The Simpsons Movie 2 is officially in development after being teased by series creator Matt Groening in June. It’s still not scheduled for release until July 23, 2027, lining it up with the 20-year anniversary of the first The Simpson Movie, so fans still have a bit of a wait to see it. But considering the success of the first film, which had total box office sales in excess of $536 million, more crossovers and promotional content are likely to follow over the next couple of years.
