A new season of Fortnite Battle Royale means it’s time for a new battle pass, and this one is special in a couple different ways. This is the first time a normal battle pass has included three collaboration skins, and it’s also the first time that a battle pass skin will be available to earn even if you don’t buy the battle pass.
Otherwise, the battle pass includes the usual amount of stuff, with seven skins on the linear portion of the pass, plus a bonus skin that will become available midway through the season. Let’s start with the collabs with Halo and Power Rangers. Anyone who buys the battle pass or unlocks it with Fortnite Crew will instantly receive the UNSC Spartan skin. By getting to level 100 on the pass, you’ll unlock the Green/White Ranger from Power Rangers, and Dino Megazord will be the mid-season drop on September 16.
Beyond those folks, there are five other Fortnite-original skins on the battle pass as well. The highlighta among these folks are probably the new Mae, who’s got prosthetic robot arms that she controls using a gamepad, and Agent Patch, who is a panda wearing human clothes. While the previous Mae skin was cel shaded, the new Battle Gamer Mae appears not to be.
After the fun novelty skins, we’ve got a trio of more standard humans, starting with Lt. Ripp Slade, a heavily armored re-do of the old battle pass skin Battlehawk from Chapter 1 Season 4, This one might have made more sense on the Season for the Season 4 OG Pass, but with all that armor he certainly looks ready to fight the bugs.
Finally, we’ve got a pair of skins that look designed to appeal to the sort of sweaty players who’ve been maining Kor and Lara Croft for the past four years: the black-clad Onyx Winter, OXR’s leader, and the idol Yoo-mi.
Beyond those skins, the pass contains accessories and other matching cosmetics for each of these skins. The pass costs 1000 V-Bucks, and it included with a subscription to Fortnite Crew.
