5. Here’s a look at Tuesday’s injury report.
As Coach Reid foreshadowed on Sunday, offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor, cornerback Kristian Fulton and tight end Tre Watson each began camp on the “Physically Unable to Perform,” or “PUP” list. All three players were in attendance for Tuesday’s practice but did not participate.
Every other member of the roster was on the field for Tuesday’s session, however, including players returning from injuries such as tight end Jared Wiley (knee), wide receiver Rashee Rice (knee) and offensive tackle Josh Simmons (knee).
Reid provided a bit of an update on Simmons, specifically, as the first-round pick continues to work his way back from a torn patellar tendon suffered last October.
“He did some good things. He worked in there with the 1s, and he did a nice job,” Reid said. “He has things he needs to work on, but he’ll keep doing that.”
Next up, the Chiefs will take the field on Wednesday for the second practice of training camp (and the first open to the general public). Even though most days are free to attend, tickets must be reserved online ahead of time.
