Final Fantasy VII Rebirth coming to Xbox Series, Switch 2; third game confirmed multiplatform

Square Enix will release Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for Xbox Series and Switch 2, as well as for PC via Microsoft Store, the company announced.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth first launched for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024, followed by PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on January 23, 2025.

The third and final game in the Remake trilogy, which has yet to be titled, will also be available across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.

“The Final Fantasy VII Remake series will be expanding to major platforms moving forward,” series director Naoki Hamaguchi said in a tweet. “PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC—we’re committed to making sure players can enjoy each Part in a way that suits their lifestyle. As we approach the final Part, I’m truly grateful that more people will have the opportunity to experience the world we’ve poured our hearts into.”
