There’s an active recall on multiple types of cheese sold in 10 states and regions, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
The cheese impacted by this recall was sold at Wegmans stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C. from July 1 through August 12, 2025. The following products are being recalled, including their package sizes, printed UPCs and best-by dates:
- Wegmans Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese (8.8-ounce) with UPC “77890-53515” and best-by date 7/26/25, 8/12/25 or 8/19/25
- Wegmans Assorted Cheese Flight (1-pound) with UPC “2-77100-00000-0”
- Wegmans Grilling Camembert with Tapenade & Roasted Tomatoes (10-ounce) with UPC “2-77297-00000-0”
- Wegmans Caramel Apple Pecan Topped Brie Cheese (13-ounce) with UPC “2-77645-00000-3”
Check your refrigerator for these products, and if you have any on hand, dispose of it or return to your local Wegmans for a full refund.
“The cheese was supplied to Wegmans by Estancia Holdings of Cumming, Georgia, who initiated a recall after the company was notified by their French supplier that three shipments they received may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,” the recall explains.
While there are no illnesses connected to this recall, Listeria infection (listeriosis) can be severe for those age 65 or older, immunocompromised, pregnant or for young children. Common symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. If you are showing any of these signs after eating one of the recalled cheeses, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
