Fantasy football waiver wire Week 10: Trey Benson, Parker Washington, streamers

Arizona running back Trey Benson, wearing a while helmet, jersey and pants, strides in the open field with the ball tucked into his right side.

The Week 10 fantasy football waiver wire is thin. It makes stashing those high-upside pieces and top-notch RB backups all the more important. As I talked about on my podcast, Tyrone Tracy — well, Brian Daboll — burned us in Week 9. While that is disappointing, if you had Tracy stashed already, you didn’t burn a ton of FAB or your waiver priority for a player who lacks the value we hoped to see. While there aren’t any jaw-dropping options this week, there are plenty of waiver wire pickups you should stash for the stretch run.

Waiver Wire Running Backs

  1. Trey Benson, ARI — Whenever Benson returns, he’ll have RB2 value with upside for more.
  2. Tyjae Spears, TEN 😏
  3. Devin Singletary, NYG — Was getting a near 50/50 workload split before Tyrone Tracy got banged up late in the game. Even if Tracy is good-to-go, Singletary looks to have an even share of the work, despite Tracy’s ability and performance as the starter last year.
  4. Bhayshul Tuten, JAX 😏
  5. Emari Demercado and Bam Knight, ARI — Only here if Benson doesn’t return, and even then, it’s a near-even split that could go either way. Additionally, even though Demercado looks to have a bit higher ceiling, the Seahawks are not a great matchup.
  6. Jaret Patterson, LAC — Kimani Vidal continues to underperform, and the Chargers could turn to Patterson more, even as the lead, with Jim Harbaugh acknowledging Omarion Hampton won’t have his return window opened until after their Week 12 bye.
  7. Devin Neal, NO — The Saints could lean into Neal more as the season goes on, as Alvin Kamara isn’t their long-term plan.
  8. Tyler Allgeier, ATL 🫡
  9. Isaiah Davis, NYJ 🫡
  10. Blake Corum, LAR 🫡
  11. Sean Tucker, TB — Until we know Bucky Irving is back, Tucker is worth holding for a deep-league flier play or RB2 if Rachaad White got hurt.
  12. Terrell Jennings, NE — Only if Rhamondre Stevenson is out, and even then, only as a desperation play. TreVeyon Henderson still had 18 touches and 60% of the work, but Jennings’ 40%, which included a goal-line touchdown run, has deep-league value.
  13. Tank Bigsby, PHI — Saquon Barkley is seemingly good-to-go, but Bigsby is worth stashing where possible.
  14. Dylan Sampson, CLE — As with Barkley, it sounds like Quinshon Judkins is okay, but if he is out, Sampson has more upside than Jerome Ford.

Bait Loot
(Leave them on waivers)

  • Brittain Brown, CHI — No D’Andre Swift. No chance he scores on just five touches again.

Junk Drop

  • Nick Chubb, HOU — Sabotage drop! Two games over 7.9 fantasy points, none since the Week 6 bye.

Purely Next Man Up Ranks
(If an injury ahead of them)

  1. Tyler Allgeier, ATL
  2. Brian Robinson, SF
  3. Kyle Monangai, CHI
  4. Blake Corum, LAR
  5. Tank Bigsby, PHI
  6. Rachaad White, TB
  7. Tyjae Spears, TEN
  8. Kenneth Gainwell, PIT
  9. TreVeyon Henderson, NE
  10. Ray Davis, BUF
  11. RJ Harvey, DEN
  12. Kareem Hunt, KC
  13. Ollie Gordon, MIA
  14. Isaiah Davis, NYJ
  15. Bhayshul Tuten, JAX
  16. Emanuel Wilson, GB
  17. Dylan Sampson, CLE
  18. Devin Neal, NO

Waiver Wire Wide Receivers

  1. Parker Washington, JAX — The matchup this week is tough (Texans). I prefer Washington if Brian Thomas is active and drawing the top coverage, but whether BT7 plays or not, Washington is a solid WR4 with matchup-potential WR3 value.
  2. Troy Franklin, DEN 😏
  3. Christian Watson, GB — Weekly WR4 boom/bust play. Watson has 185 air yards in two games.
  4. Alec Pierce, IND 😏
  5. Kayshon Boutte, NE 😏 (if healthy)
  6. Tez Johnson, TB — Until Chris Godwin is officially back, Johnson will sit in the WR4 tier alongside Alec Pierce, Kayshon Boutte types, and maybe even with Godwin.
  7. Tory Horton, SEA — Got the bump last week (Friday pod, Sunday morning chat) from “Stash” to a possible WR4 start with Cooper Kupp out. Even if Kupp returns, Horton is a worthy hold in all leagues, as he could push Kupp to the No. 3/slot role.
  8. Chimere Dike, TEN — Interestingly, the Titans bumped Elic Ayomanor to third in routes, while Dike and Van Jefferson were the top two. The Titans head into the bye with Dike looking like their top weapon, given his connection with Cam Ward. If Calvin Ridley returns, Dike would be a WR4/5, but if Ridley is out of the picture, Dike is a volume-based WR4 with weekly Top 30 upside.
  9. Josh Downs, IND 😏
  10. Tre Tucker, LV — Only if Jakobi Meyers is traded, and even then, just a WR4 with Brock Bowers back.
  11. Calvin Austin, PIT — The No. 2 for the Steelers. Hail Mary play.
  12. Darius Slayton, NYG — Calvin Austin on the Giants.
  13. Cedric Tillman, CLE — Eligible to return, and while it’s likely that only the tight ends have value with Dillon Gabriel, Tillman flashed a few times to start the season.
  14. Elic Ayomanor, TEN — The Titans may get a renewed focus on youth instead of trotting out Van Jefferson as a top-two option, but we’re still scratching our heads at the Titans’ use of their rookies.
  15. Andrei Iosivas, CIN — The Bengals are on a bye, so Tee Higgins has extra time, but he left late with an injury in Week 9. We’ve seen Iosivas post WR3 numbers with Ja’Marr Chase or Higgins sidelined in the past.
  16. Jalen Coker, CAR — Finally pulled alongside Xavier Legette in routes (Legette was briefly banged up). Coker could also start pushing for value, though we’d need better play from Bryce Young.
  17. Kyle Williams, NE — Williams could fill in for Boutte, but 1) the Patriots could shift Stefon Diggs outside more, giving DeMario Douglas more run, and 2) Williams would only have WR5 boom/bust value if Boutte is out.

Stashes

  • Jayden Reed, GB — Eligible to return. For pure upside stash, I’d put him No. 1.
  • Brandon Aiyuk, SF — I’m not stashing without an IR spot or deep bench. His practice window isn’t open yet, and the Niners have a Week 14 bye. Aiyuk has Top 20 ability, though.
  • Luther Burden, CHI
  • Pat Bryant, DEN
  • Isaac TeSlaa, DET
  • Jayden Higgins, HOU
  • Isaiah Bond, CLE

Bait Loot
(Leave them on waivers)

  • Olamide Zaccheaus, CHI — First game with over 6.8 points.

Junk Drop

  • Jakobi Meyers, LV — If Meyers isn’t traded, you can send him to the waiver wire.

Worry Report
(Scale 1-5: more ducks = more worry)

  • Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB, WAS: 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆 — Whether a big or small workload, JCM has only hit double-digit fantasy points once since Week 1 against the Giants. It’s gotten worse since his huge game against the Chargers with 5.3, 3.7, 2.5 and 4.6 points, respectively, the past four games. What’s worse is his RBTouch% has declined each game, down to 50.0% in Week 9. Sure, it was a blowout, but Jayden Daniels could be lost for the season, and the Commanders already had hesitancy about JCM sustaining a full-season workload after playing just one game since 2023. With almost no passing game work and a schedule with several tough matchups, Croskey-Merritt likely won’t climb from the RB3/Flex tier.
  • Xavier Worthy, WR, KC: 🦆🦆🦆 — Worthy hasn’t seen a large dip in targets with Rashee Rice back. He went from 20.4% in Weeks 4-6 to 18.9% the past three games, including an identical 24.1% mark with Rice in Week 9. So, what’s the issue? Well, it’s the same as it was pre-Rice. It’s the rapport — or lack thereof — with Patrick Mahomes. He’s completing just 30.8% of passes with 20+ Air Yards, and it’s even worse with Worthy. When Mahomes targets Worthy, he’s completed just 16.7% of those passes, compared to 67.6% when it’s fewer than 19 Air Yards, including a super high 66.7 OffTGT% on those big throws. For reference, those same attempts were off target only 40% of the time in Worthy’s rookie season. There is optimism for them getting back on the same page given the talent involved, but with Rice not missing a beat while sidelined (injury and suspension), the Chiefs don’t need it to happen. Worthy is a WR4, in the same tier as the aforementioned Pierce, Boutte, etc. types until further notice.

Power Up Players
(Scale 1-5: more Mario mushrooms = more excitement)

  • Sam Darnold, QB, SEA: 🍄🍄 — Darnold is coming off his second game with 27+ fantasy points, which, not surprisingly, was his second game with four passing touchdowns. Despite it being his third game of 20+ points in the past four games, it’s not a sign of his becoming Matthew Stafford-ian. Darnold had a 16.7 TD/ATT% in Week 9 and 11.8% in his Week 5 four-TD game. He’s topped 7.4% just one other time — Week 3 when Darnold went 14-for-18 with two touchdowns against the Saints. Darnold’s Comp% is tied for sixth at 70.4 with Josh Allen, so he’s playing well, but only Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson are averaging fewer attempts per game than Darnold’s 27.0. That’s the rub. Darnold has to be remarkably efficient, especially with touchdowns, to carry weekly QB1 value. The schedule helps with only a few tough matchups, but Darnold will remain in the mid-upper QB2 tier, especially with little-to-no rushing upside.
  • Rashid Shaheed, WR, NO: 🍄🍄🍄 — Tyler Shough immediately made Shaheed his favorite target, and it appears this could be the new norm … as long as Shaheed isn’t traded. Shough averaged 9.1 Air Yards per Attempt — Spencer Rattler is at 7.9 this year — and Shough also averaged 11.7 yards per completion, compared to 9.1 for Rattler. Having Shaheed helps, but Shough had a similar 12.56 AirYD/TGT for Shaheed and 12.5 for Chris Olave. Shough just appeared a bit more comfortable targeting Shaheed, but even if things are more balanced in future weeks, Shough’s aggressiveness gets Shaheed back into starting territory.
