FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons released defensive back Kevin King and placed three players on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.
Defensive lineman LaCale London, inside linebacker Malik Verdon and cornerback Cobee Bryant on the NFI list. They’ll still count toward the Falcons’ 90-man roster count during training camp.
The Falcons held their first open practice earlier Thursday. None of these players were present.
King is a veteran who the Falcons first signed last offseason and re-signed this offseason. He was a key reserve on the defense and a regular fixture on special teams in 2024. Last season, King played in all but two games, starting one, and made 10 tackles, broke up two passes and recovered a fumble.
London spent last season on the Falcons’ practice squad and signed a future/reserve contract at season’s end. He was last active for Atlanta in 2023, playing in seven games and making 13 tackles.
Verdon and Bryant were signed as undrafted free agents this year, so they have yet to see an NFL field.
In addition to these roster moves, Atlanta placed inside linebacker Troy Andersen on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Thursday. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris announced that move prior to practice.
