According to multiple reports, Samsung is developing a new flagship chipset for mobile devices, the Exynos 2600, which, it may use in the Galaxy S26 series. Yesterday, it was spotted on Geekbench, which revealed its specifications and CPU performance benchmarks. Well, today we have performance benchmarks of its GPU as well, and surprise, surprise, it performs much better the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
On X, @Jukanlosreve has posted an image showing the 3DMark Steel Nomad Light GPU benchmark result of the Exynos 2600. The chipset scored 3,135 points and offered an average frame rate of 23.23 frames per second (FPS). In comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Elite scored 2,681 points and offered an average frame rate of 19.87 FPS. That means the Exynos 2600’s Xclipse 960 GPU is 15% more powerful GPU than Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Adreno 830 GPU.
However, the tipster noters that the score was measured on a test board rather than a smartphone. Usually, test boards have better ventilation, and thus, better thermal performance, than smartphones. So, it is possible that the Exynos 2600’s Xclipse 960 GPU performed faster just because of it, and it may perform similar to or worse than the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Adreno 830 GPU when put in a smartphone.
That being said, we are happy to see that the Exynos 2600 at least has the raw power to give a tough fight to its rivals. Considering that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S26 series in January, the brand could announce the Exynos 2600 a few weeks before that.
