Every Galaxy S smartphone that will get the One UI 8 update

One UI 8, based on Android 16, has been in development for Galaxy smartphones and tablets for some time now. Like every major One UI update, Samsung first released it in beta form, and as always, the latest Galaxy S flagship—the Galaxy S25 series—was the first to get access.

The Galaxy S25 lineup will also be the first to receive the stable One UI 8 update once Samsung begins the official rollout. But it won’t be limited to just the newest models. A number of Galaxy S phones will make the jump to One UI 8.

Galaxy S smartphones eligible for One UI 8

Below is the full list of Galaxy S smartphones eligible for One UI 8, based on Samsung’s official software update policy.

For some models—the Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, and Galaxy S21 FE—One UI 8/Android 16 will be the last major OS upgrade. They will still receive One UI 8.5, which is set to debut with the Galaxy S26 series in 2026, but beyond that only security updates will continue. Owners of these phones will need to upgrade to a newer Galaxy device if they want future Android versions and One UI feature updates.
