Head Coach John Harbaugh said this week that Jones made “very quick progress.”
Though he played right tackle in college, Jones said he’s been focused on guard with the Ravens. He said his biggest strides have been in the mental part of the game.
“I feel like I’ve made some big improvements. I’m just trying to stay focused on what I came here to do, and that’s to help this football team,” Jones said this week.
“I feel like it’s the mental part that kind of sets you apart – being able to play fast off the ball and hit people and get to your assignment fast. I feel like those are the guys that are elite.”
Defensive lineman Khalen Saunders Sr. will make his debut for the Jets. He’s a run-stuffing presence that they picked up this week after he was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jets pass rusher Will McDonald IV (quadriceps) and defensive tackle Harrison Phillips (foot) were questionable entering the game and both will play.
