Ed Sheeran says he is moving to the U.S.

Ed Sheeran says he is moving stateside.

The English pop singer broke the news that he is moving to the U.S. on “The 2 Johnnies Podcast” on Sunday.

Sheeran joked that “I might be the only person moving to America” right now, perhaps referring to the tense political climate in the U.S. and ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids across the country.

The “Perfect” singer said he made the decision to move across the pond because he is going on tour in the U.S. for a while, and that he can’t “dip in and out” of his family, so he and his wife and two daughters are going to settle in the States.

It is unclear when Sheeran will be touring in the U.S., as his website does not list any upcoming tour dates in the country, except for a performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 20.

Sheeran’s new album, “Play,” releases on Sept. 12, and may likely serve as the backbone for an upcoming tour.
