EA is offering you the chance to earn more than 20 Battlefield 6 items ahead of release, as the anticipated PS5 game’s open beta comes to an end. As part of a new Battlefield 2042 event called the Road to Battlefield 6, a free Battle Pass provides bonuses for launch in October.
The event begins today and will be available until 7th October. During that time, you can progress through the free Battle Pass and unlock over 50 rewards for Battlefield 2042, which are designed to celebrate “the legacy of the franchise”. On top of them, a further 20+ Battlefield 6 items can be unlocked for use when the game releases.
If you took part in the Battlefield 6 beta at any point, you gain access to the LYNX Sniper Rifle in Battlefield 2042.
As well as the in-game rewards, this event brings a reimagining of the Iwo Jima map. There’s also the KFS2000 weapon to unlock in the free Battle Pass, and the A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot fighter jets have been brought out of the Battlefield vault.
The rewards relating to Battlefield 6 will unlock at Battle Pass tiers 8,19, 30, 40, 49, and 60. Alongside them, the other items are themed around Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4. You can read more in the developer post on Twitter.
Following the excitement surrounding the Battlefield 6 reveal and open beta, the Battlefield 2042 event should bring back a wave of players, both old and new. In our hands-on preview, we said:
“We’ve yet to see how the game will deal with post-launch support, and we obviously haven’t seen much of Portal and the campaign. But the multiplayer alone is enough for us to get excited. It’s bombastic, it’s cinematic, it’s invigorating, and most importantly of all, it’s classic Battlefield to a tee. Battlefield 6 may just be the Battlefield game we’ve been hoping for.”
