At halftime of their Week 5 game against the Denver Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles hold a 10-3 lead.
The story of the first half was Philly’s defense, which held the Broncos to just 102 yards on 32 plays — an anemic average of 3.2 yards per play. Denver went 1 of 8 on third downs and punted on five of its six first-half possessions, with the lone score coming via a field goal on a drive that only covered 32 yards to begin with.
The Eagles were held in check on several of their drives as well, but they came away with a touchdown on one thanks to some explosives in the passing game. Jalen Hurts actually let loose with a few deeper throws in this one and a 52-yard bomb to DeVonta Smith eventually set up Dallas Goedert’s score from the 2-yard line. Hurts went 13 of 19 for 138 yards and that touchdown during the first half.
Will the Eagles maintain their lead, or will the Broncos stage a second-half comeback? We’ll find out soon enough. In the meantime, keep it locked to our live blog throughout the rest of the afternoon as we update you with stats, scores and highlights.
