Dua Lipa Wears Nothing But Sheer Burgundy Lace for 30th Birthday

To quote Dua Lipa, one dress is all it takes. And, to quote Dua Lipa again, this dress could be the one. The singer rang in her 30th birthday on August 22—and she wore the dress to end all dresses for the milestone.

In an Instagram post, Lipa showed off her show-stopping dress, which was made of sheer netted lace with a floral motif in a gorgeous deep garnet burgundy shade. Delicate sequins were sewn into the fabric to add a touch of sparkle. The dress featured a plunging halter neckline and was completely backless. It hugged her hips before falling to the floor.

Lipa accessorized with statement gold jewelry, wearing a braided cuff, a diamond bangle, a gold watch, and several gold and diamond rings. In one photo—a selfie that saw her grinning with fiancé Callum Turner, Lipa showed off her unexpected canary yellow studded manicure.

In the caption of her post, reflected on her year, which she described as her “favorite” so far.

“30 30 30!!!!!!!! 🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂,” she began. “Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes ❤️.”

She went on: “This last lap around the sun has been, without a doubt, my favorite year yet. The past 10 years have been the most incredible ride I could’ve ever dreamed of… my 20s were pure MAGIC. Not without their challenges or awkward moments, but filled with more love, joy, and lessons than I ever imagined. I’m so deeply grateful for every step of the journey and everything it’s taken to get here.”

She then thanked her parents for being “the heart of it all.” “Because of you, me, @rinalipa, and @gjinlipa [her siblings] have always felt like the world was in our hands, that no dream was too big, and that absolutely anything was possible,” she wrote.

She then took a moment to shout-out the “people [she keeps] close.” “Looking around the table this summer at my partner, my closest friends, and my loved ones (the very best of the best), I know I’ve done something right,” she wrote. Lipa announced her engagement to Turner earlier this year.

After thanking her fans, she concluded, “I love this life, I love this journey, and I never take a single moment of it for granted. Here’s to the next 30 and beyond… it just keeps getting better.”

Lipa’s sentimental post (and her stunning birthday dress) comes a day after she shared a round-up of vacation photos wearing a series of bikinis to mark the “last days of 29.”
