Donkey Kong Bananza owner spray paints the Game Card yellow and ruins his Switch 2 in the process

You might remember that back in the day, Nintendo released a handful of Donkey Kong-related games that came with yellow cartridges. The Donkey Kong Land series on Game Boy used yellow carts, as did Donkey Kong 64 on the N64. There’s sadly no such nostalgia to be found with Donkey Kong Bananza, but that didn’t stop one fan from trying.

TikToker Gardner wanted to experience some Donkey Kong nostalgia, so he decided to take the Game Card for Donkey Kong Bananza and spray paint it yellow. The Game Card looked well enough once the paint job was done, but as you can probably guess, this artistic endeavor led to a host of problems for the TikToker.

Gardner soon realized that the paint job made the Game Card too big to fit into the Switch 2, which led to him forcing it into the system. Not surprisingly, Gardner then found out that he couldn’t get the Game Card out of the system. He then turned to brute force to remove the Game Card, but all that left him with was a damaged paint job and Game Card.

Gardner is still unable to get his yellow copy of Donkey Kong Bananza out of his Switch 2, which means he’s out of luck when it comes to playing other physical games. There’s little chance Nintendo will fix this issue, which means Gardner will have no choice but to go the all-digital route moving forward.

Gardner made a whole series of TikToks about his ill-fated saga, and you can see the first of them below. Also, this should go without saying, but PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!
