A gesture by Donald Trump seems to show his state of health after he avoided public events for a few days before turning up on the golf course
Donald Trump was photographed heading to play golf on Saturday, despite some health rumors, as a body language expert says the president is not self-conscious about using his arms, despite bruises amid his diagnosed condition.
After more rumors about his state of health went viral, with some worrying on X after Trump failed to be on camera for two days, Trump was photographed at a golf course, playing with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, and grandson, Spencer Trump.
“His walk looks slow here, with his arms hanging and swinging heavily at his sides but this would be quite normal from someone who is, as he seems to be, slowing to wait by or for his car,” body language expert Judi James tells The Irish Star.

Trump will be the oldest president in history at the end of his term, as the 79-year-old’s health concerns have often sparked hostile speculation, especially on social media. However, his doctor, and assessments from the body language specialist find that Trump is unbothered by his recent chronic venous insufficiency diagnosis, despite hand bruises and swollen ankles.
“His head is lowered, but this is also a signature look for Trump who tends to adopt an alpha style or posture that includes slumping and some hunching in contrast to previous, more upright presidents, especially Joe Biden in his heyday,” James adds.
Trump’s gesture when he finally surfaced to the press was a significant sign, as the elderly president struggles with circulation, in accordance with his diagnosis. Though, since then, the White House physician confirmed Trump is in ‘great health’ through public memorandums.
Looking at his body language off the golf course, James says, “It’s interesting to focus on the way Trump lifts his arm to gesticulate here. The arm is voluntarily lifted high, at about shoulder level. This might not be too unusual generally, but for a man of his age who seems to be a stranger to the gym.”
“This stretching out of the arm at shoulder height is impressive, especially as he holds it there for quite while and the gesture implies reasonable levels of energy,” the analysis continues. “If someone is ill or has a problem with pain in the hands it would be a rare gesture to use.”
Finally, “He also has both his hands and arms in use later, again suggesting a lack of any self-consciousness or wariness about them.”
Trump, despite his age, doesn’t usually go dark, spending plenty of time engaging with press. When he’s not doing it live, Trump is known to publish anywhere from one to a dozen or more messages on Truth Social.
So when he went dark this weekend, and speculation started, Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese said in a post on social media that “He’s very much alive!”
