It’s been a wild past few days for Pokemon leaks, and even more news is surfacing from the “Teraleak” – specifically about original plans for Pokemon Legends 2 before it became Z-A.
First, Game Freak was originally planning on having the game set in Johto. Something changed along the way and the final title takes place in Kalos. As of now it’s unclear why the swap happened.
It actually looks like Pokemon Legends: Ho-Oh and Lugia were planned, meaning two versions would have been released – and as 2024 games. The project would have been “in a time before Pokemon Trainers existed – a story about the origins of Trainers.” After falling through time, the protagonist commands Pokemon and revives three of them. The Burned Tower would have appeared as a nine-story tower, identical to the Bell Tower.
Outside of the Pokemon Legends 2 news, we have a look at scrapped features for Z-A. One element Game Freak was toying around with was a new PokeRide system in which Lucario could be used to jump between buildings. Other Pokemon riding was found in the game’s beta.
That’s far from all though. Also uncovered today is shooter-like gameplay that was once in the works as well as a Splatoon style 4v4 multiplayer.
For those interested in other leaks that surfaced today, Pokemon Gen 10 details have apparently come online here.
