A soap recall that a company initiated back in August has expanded to more than 30 personal care products.
DermaRite industries has expanded a recall on soap products to include more than 30 personal care products, from shampoos to lotions.
The company expanded the recall because of the potential microbial contamination by Burkholderia cepacia complex, according to the FDA.
Burkholderia cepacia complex can lead to serious and life-threatening infections, particularly by immunosuppressed individuals or by people attending to immunosuppressed individuals. The infection could spread into the bloodstream and potentially lead to life-threatening sepsis in people who are immunocompromised.
It may also cause local infections in healthy people with minor skin lesions.

Which additional personal care products from DermaRite were added to the recall?
There were more than 30 additional personal care products added to the recall, ranging from hand sanitizers to shampoos to lotions.

Consumers are urged to destroy the products if they have them in their households.
