
After weeks of preparation, Democratic lawmakers in Oregon began a special session Friday – and immediately failed spectacularly to advance a major transportation package on the promised timeline.
Even with a few Republicans and nearly all Democrats present in the House, leaders of the majority party did not assemble enough members to introduce their transportation funding proposal and advance it through committee. The setback delayed special session action by at least one day.
