‘Dawson’s Creek’ Cast Will Reunite For F Cancer Charity Event

The cast of Dawson’s Creek will be back together onstage for the first time since the show wrapped in 2003 for a one-night only charity event to benefit F Cancer and Dawson’s Creek alum James Van Der Beek.

Series stars Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Philipps will reunite at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City on Monday, Sept. 22 for a live reading of the show’s 1998 pilot episode. Van Der Beek was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2023, but did not publicly share his diagnosis until Nov. 2024.

The event will be directed by Dawson’s Creek alum Jason Moore. Producers include Carl Ogawa, Jason Moore, Michelle Williams, Thomas Kail, Maggie Brohn, Kevin Williamson and Greg Berlanti. Philipps, Smith and Monroe, who joined the show after the first season, will read various roles in the pilot.

Created by Kevin Williamson, Dawson’s Creek is considered a defining cultural touchstone for an entire generation. The series introduced audiences to Dawson (Van Der Beek), Joey (Holmes), Pacey (Jackson) and Jen (Williams). The group, along with their family and friends, navigated the complexities of adolescence, relationships and social issues. The show gave voice to a generation’s anxieties and self-awareness in ways that resonated deeply with viewers who were navigating similar experiences.

“I am so excited to reunite with James, Michelle, Katie, Joshua, and our Dawson’s Creek family for such a special night,” said Williamson. Dawson’s Creek changed my life. What began as a personal story about a young man and his friends navigating their way through the challenges of life became so much more than I ever dreamed. It created an enduring fandom and legacy all over the world. I am so honored to be a part of it and to support our beautiful friend, James, as we continue to navigate our way through life and its many challenges.”

Dawson’s Creek aired on The WB from 1998-2003 and was produced by Sony Pictures Television.

Tickets go on sale at Broadway Direct on Friday, August 22 at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET.
