Following leaks and rumours, SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is now official.
As you can see in the daft announcement trailer, this is an original 3D platformer from the developers behind the Battle for Bikini Bottom remake as well as The Cosmic Shake:
David Hasselhoff, best known for his pivotal role in the original SpongeBob movie, serenades us with a sea shanty about the new adventure.
In Titans of the Tide, players will take control of both SpongeBob and his best buddy Patrick, swapping between their normal state and a strange spirit form.
It seems the story revolves around a clash between King Neptune and the Flying Dutchman, the result of which has left Bikini Bottom in a ghostly state.
The game appears to be exactly what you’d expect — a colourful, silly platformer that doubles down on the brilliantly mad world of SpongeBob.
