Dave Grohl‘s second chapter is turning out to be a sweet one.
The 56-year-old Foo Fighters musician shocked fans in September 2024 when he revealed he had fathered a child outside of his marriage. Naturally, that created a ripple effect in his 21-year marriage to Jordyn Blum, with whom he has three children: Violet, 19, Harper, 16, and Ophelia, 11.
There were rumors that Grohl had hired a divorce attorney and that Blum was seeking comfort with her A-list bestie, Kate Hudson. Now, there seems to be a positive development after their marriage hit a rocky patch — and the news might surprise some fans.

“She’s forgiven him,” a source told People about the “very happy” couple. “They never wanted a divorce, though — the idea of splitting up their family was too sad for both of them. They love their girls, and they’re both great parents.”

Still, the news about Grohl’s betrayal was devastating to Blum, whom the insider described as “initially distraught.” Grohl “felt terrible and begged her to forgive him,” and “she [felt] it was all worth fighting for.” The duo has been spotted out in public together as recently as Sept. 5, so the news that they have healed their marriage makes sense.
Grohl revealed the arrival of his fourth daughter on Sept. 10, 2024, on his Instagram page. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he wrote. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
The New York Post identified Grohl’s mistress as Jennifer Young, who was photographed in a February article. The baby’s name has not been revealed publicly. “Protecting her identity is really important because there’s some really angry fans,” Young said.
Grohl seems to understand the gravity of his choices. “He knows he messed up,” an insider told People last year. “It’s one of those situations where you don’t realize what you have until you’re about to lose it. He doesn’t want to lose his family.”
Grohl is fortunate that his wife found a way forward in their marriage after his act of betrayal. He gets a second chance to make it right with Blum.
