Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is explaining his side of “spit gate” and revealing what he said to Philadelphia Eagles defensive player Jalen Carter in that moment.
If you did not see, on Thursday (September 4), during the two teams’ opening night NFL game, the 24-year-old Defensive Tackle was ejected from the game for spitting on the 32-year-old QB.
Later on in the evening, a second angle of the video was revealed and showed Dak actually “spit first,” though Dak‘s saliva did not seem to physically land on Jalen.
Dak then explained that second video, sharing with reporters that he spits “a thousand times throughout the game.”

Dak said he “wasn’t going to spit on my lineman and I just spit ahead.”
He then told reporters that Jalen allegedly asked if he was purposely trying to spit on him.
Dak said he was insulted by that, sharing (via NBC), “I wouldn’t spit on somebody.”
“I actually said words like, ‘Why the hell would I’ — excuse me, but probably even more colorful — ‘what would I need to spit on you for?’ He just spit on me in that moment, it was more of a surprise than anything,” Dak added.
He added that he’s “pretty sure [Carter] knows that I didn’t try to spit on him or wasn’t even aiming to spit on him”
“I know how excited each and every one of us are right to kick off the season and the season opener, and hell of a player like that doesn’t even get a chance in the first play. Unfortunate circumstances,” he added.
