Early this afternoon, the Pisces moon and the Cancer sun join forces to bring some harmonious, balanced energy to the day. It’s a good opportunity for socializing, solving problems collaboratively, and processing your feelings. Lately, everything feels unnecessarily difficult, but today, you can figure out your next steps — and chances are, they won’t be as onerous as you feared.

When you’re getting to know somebody new, there’s nothing wrong with putting in a bit of extra effort to impress them. If you insisted on playing it cool all the time, your social life would be so much less interesting. Today, just remember that you shouldn’t always have to be on your best behavior, striving to prove your worth. Right now, try to prioritize the people who never make you feel like you’re walking on eggshells; the ones who are most generous with their attention and affection.

It often seems like there’s no space to ask earnest questions. You get the impression that you’re expected to know everything, and that if you were to admit to any gaps in your knowledge, you’d only be opening yourself up to ridicule. But nobody was born with a perfect understanding of every subject in the world — much as some people might try to pretend otherwise — and all you can do is learn as you go. Today, don’t hesitate to ask questions when you’re curious or confused; you’ll be glad you did.

In general, you’re good at seeing issues from different perspectives. Even when you know for certain that somebody is wrong, you can at least appreciate where they’re coming from. Demonstrating to others that you’re willing to meet them halfway will go a long way toward establishing trust, but it can be a lot of work. Today, give yourself permission to be stubborn about the things that matter to you, and to think twice before pushing yourself to empathize with people who wouldn’t do the same for you.

You’re good at picking up on hints and deciphering nonverbal communication. It comes naturally to you, so you tend to assume that it’s equally easy for others to pick up on your cues. Today, though, remember there’s a good chance that the people around you are completely oblivious to the messages you’re trying to send, regardless of how obvious you think they are. If there’s something you’re trying to communicate, the best thing you can do right now is to stop hedging and simply say it.

You understand that nobody gets to do only what they want, when they want it — being part of a community sometimes means that you have to put aside your own preferences for the sake of the group. But if it feels like accommodating everyone else is all you’ve been doing lately, you now have a chance to reset. Just for now, commit to spending your time in a way that feels meaningful to you. The more you give to the people around you, the more important it is to tend to your own needs.

If you’re going to take on a project, you want to give it your all. Even when you don’t really expect anyone else to notice, you still want to live up to your ideals and do things right, if only for your own satisfaction. But today, the people around you are likely to take notice of your hard work, and of the care you put into everything you do. When you start to get discouraged, remember that others are paying closer attention than you think, and that your conscientiousness can serve to inspire them.

Sometimes, routines feel constricting. You’re tired of the monotony, and you’d happily accept a bit of uncertainty if it meant life would get more exciting. Today, though, remember that it can also be nice to have a solid routine to fall back on. You don’t need to revise your patterns: You can simply trust that the plans you’ve made and habits you’ve developed are strong and durable and that they’ll get you where you need to be.

Today, remember that the best conversations, the ones most likely to challenge you and change the way you see the world, don’t have to be serious. The people with valuable insights to share won’t necessarily be earnest and humorless; it’s possible to laugh and joke while discussing real issues and big ideas. Don’t be too quick to write off the people who seem, on the surface, unserious; right now especially, lighthearted conversions might prove surprisingly rewarding.

You try not to be hung up on the past, but it’s easier said than done. Although you know there’s no use dwelling on things you can’t change, there’s still a part of you that can’t help but imagine all the what-ifs, imagining what life might look like now if you’d made different choices. Today, give yourself permission to dream and reminisce. While you won’t be able to change the past, a bit of reflection can help you plan for the future.

You’re not too proud to admit that sometimes, when faced with a seemingly insurmountable problem, the best thing you can do is walk away. You try to be realistic about what’s beyond your current capabilities, so that you direct your attention toward projects where you have a better chance of actually making a difference. Today, though, don’t be too quick to assume that the issues you’re facing are unsolvable. They might be too much to handle on your own, but you could find surprising solutions if you’re willing to ask your friends for help.

While you know that it’s necessary to push beyond your comfort zone every so often, it can be difficult to find the right balance. You feel like you’re constantly veering between extremes, first setting your sights so high that you get overwhelmed and exhausted, then growing discouraged and deciding that it’s not worth trying at all. Today, look for some middle ground. You don’t need to achieve earth-shattering success right now; setting yourself small, achievable challenges can be enough to set you on the right path.

Sometimes it’s hard for you to trust that your friends actually like you as much as they say. You know that people don’t always express their true feelings, and so no matter how nice someone appears to be, part of you still worries that they’re secretly judging you. But today, take a break from assuming the worst of everyone. There’s no reason people wouldn’t want to spend time with you. Your friends have stuck around for a reason. Have a little more faith in yourself — and in the people around you, too.
