Jana Duggar is pregnant with her first child!
The former Counting On star married Stephen Wissmann on Aug. 15, 2024—and now, one year later, the newlyweds are expecting their first baby.
On Monday, Aug. 18, Jana took to Instagram to announce the pregnancy news.
“We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family!” she captioned the update. “We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!”
In the featured black-and-white image, Stephen kissed Jana as she wore a dress that showed off her baby bump. Other shots showed the couple resting their hands on her growing belly.
Jana’s Instagram followers reacted to her baby news with congratulatory messages.
One fan declared, “Yay! Actual tears I am so happy for you. I think this is my favourite Duggar pregnancy announcement ever. ❤️.”
Another shared, “❤️ Why do I feel like I just found out a good friend is pregnant? 😂 🙈Congratulations! This news made my day 🙌.”
Someone else wrote, “You will make the best mama jana ❤️ congratulations to you all x.”
Meanwhile, yet another follower commented, “❤️🔥😍so happy for you both! Congratulations 💙🩷.”
Jana’s pregnancy announcement followed a typical timeline for the Duggar family. Many of her 18 siblings have entered courtships, quickly become engaged and welcomed “honeymoon babies,” sometimes less than a year after marriage.
As Jana’s parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, explained in 19 Kids and Counting and elsewhere, they decided to shun birth control and instead leave their family size “up to God.”
The Duggar kids were raised under the strict, fundamentalist Christian values taught by Bill Gothard, called the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP). Jana’s younger sister, Jill (Duggar) Dillard, referred to the IBLP as a “form of a cult” during a September 2023 interview with People.
