Certain Costco members received a new benefit this week that can help them beat crowds at warehouses nationwide. Starting Monday, Sept. 1, executive members can now begin shopping up to one hour earlier than gold star and business members.
The national warehouse chain soft launched the benefit in June, but expanded the offering to all warehouses starting this week. The perk allows executive members to begin shopping at 9 a.m. daily. Warehouses will be open to executive members only until 10 a.m. Sunday through Friday and until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
For Costco locations that already open at 9 a.m., the store will only be open for executive members at that time. The benefit has not been available to members since 2017.
Warehouses will also remain open for all members until 7 p.m. on Saturday as part of the changes.
Costco offers different tiers of membership with gold star and business plans starting at $65 a year. The executive membership is $130 a year, but comes with several extra benefits. Executive perks include 2% on qualified purchases and extra savings on certain Costco services such as automotive, optometry, pet insurance, and more.
Costco operates more than 600 locations across the U.S.
