Bradley Cooper is reportedly in negotiations to star in the “Oceans Eleven” prequel at Warner Bros. Pictures and LuckyChap Entertainment.
He’ll star opposite Margot Robbie in the film and take over the role Ryan Gosling was originally slated to play.
Robbie is producing the film, and Cooper has reportedly been friends with Robbie over the years, with the pair always wanting to work together.
Combined with Cooper having a current production deal at Warner Bros., and a good meeting with the film’s director, Lee Isaac Chung (“Twisters”), Cooper was easy to slot in.
Shooting aims to begin next year. The current screenplay is by Carrie Solomon and is based on characters created by George Clayton Johnson & Jack Golden Russell.
The project is separate from an “Ocean’s 14” film in the works, which George Clooney indicated this week is also targeting a filming start sometime next year.
