Colts sign LB Germaine Pratt

The Colts on Wednesday signed linebacker Germaine Pratt, head coach Shane Steichen said.

The 29-year-old Pratt spent the majority of his seven-year career with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played for current Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo from 2019-2024. In six seasons with Anarumo and the Bengals, Pratt totaled 616 tackles, seven interceptions, seven forced fumbles, 16 pass break-ups, 32 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks.

“We’re excited about him, excited about his talents,” Steichen said.

Pratt in 2024 set a career high with 143 tackles; he recorded at least 99 tackles, two interceptions and five tackles for a loss in three consecutive years from 2022-2024.

With the Bengals, the 6-foot-3, 250 pound Pratt started seven playoff games, totaling 49 tackles, one interception, and three pass break-ups in those contests.

The Bengals selected Pratt in the third round (No. 72 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State.

The Bengals released Pratt in June, and he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders a few days later. Pratt appeared in four games for the Raiders in 2025, totaled 25 tackles with two pass break-ups and one tackle for a loss. He did not travel with the Raiders to Indianapolis for Week 5 and was released on Monday.

Steichen said the Colts will have a corresponding roster move to make room for Pratt on the 53-man roster later Wednesday.
