A week after four losses by top-10 teams left just three teams in the same spot in the rankings, Saturday was marked by blowouts and just a couple of notable upsets. Look for No. 13 Florida, bested by USF, and No. 12 Arizona State, defeated by Mississippi State, to drop — but how far?

- Could the Bulls crack the ratings? It seems likely after USF beat a second straight ranked opponent, following an easy win over Boise State at the season’s opening.
- Who topped the last poll? Defending national champions Ohio State took the lead, followed by Penn State at No. 2 and LSU at No. 3. All top five teams, including No. 4 Georgia and No. 5 Miami, beat their opponents Saturday.
- Who decides the rankings? The Top 25 voters are over 60 journalists covering college football for AP members and other news organizations. They’re urged to base their votes on head-to-head results, not reputation, preseason speculation or regional bias.
