Coca-Cola Just Launched a Brand-New Flavor With Dolly Parton

Key Takeaways

  • Dollywood is marking its 40th anniversary with a new exclusive Coca-Cola Freestyle drink.
  • Park guests are raving about the sweet, brightly-colored soda and offering a variety of flavor comparisons.
  • The limited-time beverage is available at most drink stations throughout the park.

Dolly Parton has done just about everything in the food world, from publishing a cookbook to launching a baking mix line (that we love!) to sharing her tried-and-true recipes. But some of her most iconic creations can only be found in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains at her very own theme park: Dollywood.

If you’ve been, you know Dollywood is home to one-of-a-kind treats you won’t find anywhere else. Some fans will tell you the Tennessee park’s famous Cinnamon Bread or its impressive 25-pound apple pie is worth the trip alone. Over the past 40 years, Dolly—also known as Dollywood’s “Dreamer-in-Chief”—has been involved in almost every aspect of the park, from the attractions to the food that keeps guests coming back year after year.

Now, as part of Dollywood’s 40th anniversary celebration, there’s a new sweet treat joining the lineup. This one, however, isn’t baked, fried, or served on a stick. Instead, it’s poured straight from a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine.

Dollywood Introduces 40th Pop Fizz Soda Flavor

The newest treat exclusive to Dollywood is a Coca-Cola Freestyle flavor called 40th Pop Fizz. The drink debuted earlier this summer, and it’s already earning rave reviews.

“I drank this all dang day,” one parkgoer shared on Facebook. “It’s sooo good,” added another.

So, what does it taste like? Fans have offered plenty of theories. Some say it’s a cross between Cheerwine and cream soda, while others describe it as a “carbonated cherry Icee” or even “cotton candy mix as a soda.” A few creative customers have even enjoyed mixing it with Sprite

“We went Tuesday and it was my favorite! It reminds me of Mr. Fizz red cream soda!” another visitor said.

No matter how you describe it, most agree that the bright red soda is a serious sugar rush. And knowing Dolly’s love for sweet treats (funnel cake especially), we can’t say we’re surprised. After all, guests need plenty of liquid energy to spend a day riding roller coasters, catching live music shows, and exploring every charming corner of Dollywood.

You can find 40th Pop Fizz at Coca-Cola Freestyle machines and other soft drink stations throughout Dollywood, but only for a limited time. So, if you needed one more reason to plan a trip, here it is—just in time for apple pie and kettle corn season in the Smokies.
