There’s a lot of speculation surrounding Christine Baranski and King Princess right now after they’ve been spotted together at many red carpet events.
Christine, 73, and King Princess, 26, most recently were seen holding hands while attending the opening night performance of Mamma Mia‘s return to Broadway on Monday (August 18) in New York City.
KP added to the speculation by sharing the photo on Instagram and captioning it, “Love is love.”
“My fave thing about this id idk if this is real or not,” one fan commented, seemingly echoing the thoughts of all the other fans.

For those who don’t know, Christine was previously married to playwright and actor Matthew Cowles until he passed away back in 2014. She has not publicly dated anyone since his death.
Christine and KP worked together on the second season of the Hulu series Nine Perfect Strangers, which filmed from January 2024 to June 2024. The season was released in May 2025.
The two of them clearly hit it off on set as they started making public appearances together shortly after filming wrapped.
Christine and KP attended a performance of Oh, Mary! on Broadway together in August 2024, they stepped out together for the MPTF’s 18th Annual Evening Before the Emmys in September 2024, and they walked the carpet together at the opening night of The Picture of Dorian Gray on Broadway in March 2025. They did a feature together for Interview Magazine in May 2025, in which they discussed their “deep and intimate friendship.”
Christine said in the piece, “Our first date—let’s give them something to talk about—we actually got dressed up and finally had dinner. I remember we went to this chic, French-y watering hole. We sat at the bar, ordered our martinis, and suddenly we’re talking about our grandmothers who deeply affected and influenced our lives. I think that’s where we profoundly bonded. Tell us about your nana and your devotion to her.”
Christine also noted that “possibly the greatest gift” of working on Nine Perfect Strangers was “developing a friendship with this wildly talented young woman who’s so opinionated, deeply funny and witty. We’ve curiously bonded and wanted to remain friends. That’s a great gift, which is why I’m interviewing you.”
At the end of the interview, Christine said some really kind words.
“You were my shaman. But we won’t get too deep into this. It’s going to be a beautiful relationship, baby,” she told KP. “I can’t wait for the decades ahead. I’m going to learn so much from you, and I’ll teach you whatever good stuff that I know.”
King Princess replied, “Well, I love you and I’m just thankful to have you in my life.”
Are they dating or not?!
The general consensus is that they are just great friends and are playing into the speculation about their relationship for the fun of it.
Hannah Einbinder, who was pictured with the pair at the MPTF party last year, commented on the Mamma Mia post.
“ava and deborah vibes,” she wrote, referencing the dynamic between her Hacks character and the one played by Jean Smart.
KP replied, “double date?” Well, they can’t go out with fictional characters, so this is another sign that they’re just feeding into the rumors for fun.
King Princess (aka Mikaela Straus) is a singer who has opened up about “mean girls” in pop music.
