Chipotle is offering free guacamole for a year to thousands of fans…. here’s how to get it

Chipotle is giving away free guacamole for a year — and all you need is Snapchat and an avocado.

The chain is marking its biggest guac giveaway ever with a new ‘AvoLotto Sweepstakes’ running from today until  Wednesday.

Fans can open Snapchat, use the AR Lens to scan real avocados, and see if they’ve won.

Winners will get a message with a code they must add to their Chipotle Rewards account within five days.

Up to 1,000 people on each the three days will score a year’s worth of free guac.

On July 31 — National Avocado Day — Chipotle will give all Rewards members a free topping or side of guacamole with entrée purchases using the code at participating US stores.

Those not into guac can try Chipotle’s new Adobo Ranch sauce, now available at nearly 3,800 locations.

Chipotle’s guacamole is one of the chain’s most popular homemade offerings.

Up to 1,000 fans per day will have the chance to win free guac between July 28 and July 30

Crew members arrive at Chipotle restaurants every morning at 6:00 to prep the sauce made of up of avocados, cilantro, red onion, jalapeno, citrus juice and kosher salt.

‘Each year for National Avocado Day, the holiday that has become synonymous with Chipotle, we find new and creative ways for fans to score our hand-mashed guac,’ said Chris Brandt, president, chief brand officer.

‘We only use real ingredients in our restaurants, so when we worked with Snapchat to create ‘AvoLotto,’ we had to make sure that it only detects real fruit.’

Besides avocados, Chipotle is celebrating the summertime by giving Rewards members the chance to earn extra point and badges through its ‘Summers of Extras’ offer.

The in-app feature also comes with a private dashboard that tracks members’ transaction performance against other users in their state.

A longtime member of top fast-food chain lists, Chipotle is one of the nation’s most popular restaurant brands that Wall Street experts revealed was one of the best stocks to invest in.

While the chain is financially stable, it suffered a historic first quarter sales slump and was outperformed by the Noodles & Company pasta chain.

The sales dive is not getting in the way of Chipotle’s plans to keep growing.

Prior to the quarterly earnings release, the chain responded to bankruptcy rumors by announcing plans to open between 315 and 345 restaurants this year.

The expansion is part of Chipotle’s strategy to reach 7,000 locations in the US and Canada.

The company is also getting ready to open its first restaurant in Mexico next year through a partnership with Alsea.

The expansion agreement was met with mockery from fans, but it’s a business venture Chipotle believes will be beneficial.

‘We are confident that our responsibly sourced, classically-cooked real food will resonate with guests in Mexico,’ said chief business development officer Nate Lawson.

‘The country’s familiarity with our ingredients and affinity for fresh food make it an attractive growth market for our company.’

The chain will release its second quarter earnings report on July 23. As of now, experts predict the chain will suffer its second straight sales decline.
