Chiefs Place DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah on IR Among Other Roster Moves

The Kansas City Chiefs made a handful of roster moves on Monday afternoon, notably placing defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah (hamstring) on season-ending Injured Reserve.

Anudike-Uzomah, who was entering his third year in the NFL, suffered a hamstring injury during last Friday’s preseason matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

In a trio of corresponding moves, the Chiefs signed defensive end Owen Carney and linebacker Xander Mueller on Monday in addition to waiving rookie running back Elijah Young.

Carney, a former standout at the University of Illinois, is back with the Chiefs after spending a portion of training camp with Kansas City last summer. The 26-year-old Carney is still seeking his first regular-season action as a professional after initially signing with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2022.

Mueller joins the Chiefs after a five-year career at Northwestern, where he logged 273 total tackles, 28 tackles-for-loss and nine sacks across 46 career games.

Both players will now have an opportunity to show what they can do as the Chiefs wrap up the preseason on Friday night.
