Check out clock speed of Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Snapdragon chip

Samsung is expected to equip its next non-foldable flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipset for mobile devices, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, at least in some regions (in others, it may use the Exynos 2600).

Well, we now have a new leak about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It not only sheds light on the SoC’s CPU and GPU specifications but also reveals that Qualcomm will launch it in two versions, and Samsung will use the faster model for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

On Weibo, a popular tipster, Digital Chat Station, reveals that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will come in two versions (via Tarun Vats). The standard model will have two prime CPU cores with 4.61GHz frequency, whereas, the faster version will have two prime CPU cores with 4.74GHz frequency. The tipster says that Samsung is launching a phone with the faster version. We assume that they are referring to the Galaxy S26 Ultra here. The South Korean tech giant may advertise this SoC as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.

Both variants of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipset for mobile devices will feature six high-performance CPU cores with 3.63GHz frequency and the Adreno 840 GPU running at 1.2GHz. Reportedly, Honor, iQOO, OnePlus, Realme, and Xiaomi will use the standard version of the chipset for their upcoming devices that they will launch this year. However, next year, the five Chinese brands may launch phones with the faster version of the SoC. Qualcomm is reportedly also developing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
