Charli XCX Frees the Nipple In a Sheer Black Mini Slipdress

Charli XCX may be in her movie star era, but she’s still a brat girl at heart. The singer is turning her attention to the big screen this year with a number of acting roles. Last night, she brought one of her upcoming projects to the Toronto International Film Festival with the premiere of Erupcja. But while Charli may have been at the event as an actor, she couldn’t help but bring a little brat energy—at least when it came to her look.

The singer-turned-actress wore a sheer plunging black slipdress that served some major Carrie-Bradshaw’s-naked-dress-in-SATC-energy. In a brat-coded move, she freed the nipple in the dress wearing nothing underneath. She paired the simple minidress with a tiny quilted black crossbody bag, a pair of black heels, and a swipe of dramatic black eyeliner. She wore her hair long and down in a soft side-part.

Following the huge success of her sixth studio album brat, Charli tied the knot with George Daniel, the drummer of The 1975, in a brat-coded London ceremony that saw her wearing a Vivienne Westwood mini wedding dress.

Now, Charli’s focus seems to be firmly on film this year. Not only does she star in Erupcja, she also appears in 100 Nights of Here, which premiered in Venice, I Want Your Sex, and the upcoming A24 flick The Moment, which she wrote herself.

“I am really enjoying my acting journey,” Charli told Variety of her career pivot. “I feel very, very inspired at the moment in that field, I feel unbelievably creative, and I only ever want to do things that inspire me and make me feel energized.”
