CD Projekt Red added a new driving mode to Cyberpunk 2077 because they saw players’ YouTube videos. Some were 4 hours long

CD Projekt Red studio released patch 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 today. The update is already available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Mac computers (it will hit the Switch 2 after some time). The latest update introduces a number of improvements and interesting new features to the game. The AutoDrive feature should be of great interest – at least that’s what Pawel Sasko says.

As the name suggests, the feature allows vehicles to move around Night City automatically. Players have two options to choose from – they can either drive to a designated point on the map or just go for a leisurely ride without a specific destination. The second feature has also been enhanced with a cinematic camera that captures our journey with stylish, movie-like shots, perfect for recording or leisurely exploring the city.

Interestingly, as revealed during yesterday’s stream by the main quest designer for Cyberpunk 2077, the idea for this feature was born after watching fan-made videos published on YouTube.

The inspiration for us were the videos you created about Cyberpunk 2077 on YouTube. Videos such as “4 hours of driving around the city” and similar ones.

You can just search the right phrase on YouTube and find dozens, if not hundreds, of such videos. Undoubtedly, their creation will now become even easier and more enjoyable. As long as they’re still needed, now everyone can use AutoDrive and explore Night City directly in the game.

Let’s add that patch 2.3 is not just AutoDrive. New vehicles, such as the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, have also been added to Cyberpunk 2077. Interestingly, it appeared earlier, but as Pawel Sasko admitted with a hint of disappointment, not all players caught that clue.
