Carrie Ann Inaba To Miss Dancing With The Stars Season 34 Premiere

The ballroom will be without one familiar face for the Dancing with the Stars Season 34 premiere.

Longtime judge Carrie Ann Inaba will miss the first show due to illness, she revealed Tuesday morning on her social media. Sources tell Deadline that there will be no replacement judge in Inaba’s place, meaning the Season 34 contestants will only hear from judges Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough tonight.

“I wanted to share that I will not be at the show tonight as I am feeling quite under the weather. I’m resting up and can’t wait to be back next week in good health,” Inaba wrote in her post. “In the meantime, I wish all the contestants the very best of luck. I’ll be cheering you on from home.”

The competition series returns for its milestone 20th anniversary on September 16.

Earlier this month, ABC unveiled the full cast, which includes The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui, Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying, Reality TV star (and brother to Zac Efron) Dylan Efron, Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles and more.

In addition to the three returning judges (sans Inaba for night one), Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will host once again this season.

DWTS will simulcast live on ABC and Disney+ and will be available the next day on Hulu. The show is produced by BBC Studios.
