Candace Cameron Bure shared photos of herself rocking a swimsuit in stunning beach photos, leaving her fans marveling over her ageless beauty. However, she promptly deleted the post after fans in the comments got nasty.
On Friday, Sept. 5, the former Full House child star, 49, took to Instagram with a carousel of (now deleted) pictures flaunting her fit physique and ageless glow.
“Soaking up every last drop of summer 🌊,” Bure captioned her update.
For the featured image, the mom of three sat in the sand in shallow water while donning a black, one-piece swimsuit. Her hair was wet and slicked back on her head as she posed with her legs outstretched, leaning back with her arms behind her and supporting her weight. The actress behind DJ Tanner easily looked a decade younger while smiling for the camera.
Other snaps in the post showed Bure with her arms above her head, laughing with her eyes closed and gazing contentedly off-camera as a wave receded.
In the comments, Bure’s followers lauded the gorgeous snaps and her apparent inability to age.
One Instagram user wrote, “Holy smokes!!! Do you ever age? Lookin’ fabulous!”
Another marveled, “Are these old pics or are you getting younger?”
Someone else declared, “Aging backwards ! ❤️.”
A different fan wrote, “Oh mylanta! 🔥🔥😃,” referencing DJ’s catchphrase in the beloved ’90s sitcom.
Meanwhile, yet another Instagram follower pointed out, “You have such a youthfulness about you! Not just your looks but your whole aura. Gorgeous!”
However, many others made negative comments about Bure’s appearance, prompting her to delete the post entirely.
The next day, on Saturday, Sept. 6, Bure took to her Instagram Stories to address the incident. One follower asked, “Did you post a bikini photo like yesterday and then take it down?”
Bure replied, “Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of summer. I was having fun. It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body. But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body. It wasn’t worth it. I took it down.”
In May, Bure opened up about the goal of being in the best shape of her life by the time she turns 50.
“That’s what I’m working towards,” she told Fox News. “I’ve been filming a lot of movies, so I don’t feel like I’m at my top right now because my fitness has to take a back seat while I’m filming movies, but I turned 49 this year and I have really big goals for myself just keeping active and healthy, but going into 50, I wanna be in best shape that I can possibly be in.”
Of getting older, the Great American Family star, Bure said, “I’m in a groove, and I just want to approach life and aging as someone with grace, but also enthusiasm.”
That same month, Bure responded to comments on social media claiming she looked “old.”
“Aging is sensitive,” she pointed out on her Instagram Stories. “Comments like this hurt, no matter whether they are meant to be mean-spirited or just a shared ‘opinion.'”
She concluded, “As I embrace aging, I’m choosing to do it as naturally and as gracefully as possible. I imagine the people who write these kinds of messages are reflecting what they are personally feeling about their own self to some degree. I feel sad for them and pray for their hearts to know the love of God.”
