Camila Cabello’s corset ‘fully popped open’ in concert wardrobe malfunction

Camila Cabello isn’t the type to let a little wardrobe malfunction keep the show from going on.

The singer, 28, proved that she’s dedicated to giving her fans a good show during her Aug. 14 show in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. While performing “Chanel No. 5” off her C,XOXO album, Cabello’s Heather Picchiottino-designed corset “fully popped open,” causing momentary panic.

In a video shared by a concertgoer on TikTok, the former Fifth Harmony member is seen holding her corset to her body, which is visibly undone. “You know what, let’s just — can we pause for one second?” Cabello asks someone offstage before quickly changing her mind as the song’s backing plays on. “Let’s not, it’s fine!”

Cabello sang on, securing her top by keeping her arms close to her sides and pressing the fit close to her chest.

Thirty seconds into the video, Cabello descended the stage to a waiting crew member who rushed to redo the back of her corset. “And it’s closed!” Cabello cried once her corset was securely tied up, before she triumphantly returned onstage to continue the show.

Following the show, Cabello posted a selfie to her Instagram Stories with an explanation to what was going on with her corset during the show that kicked off her Yours, C tour leg in Asia.

“My corset fully popped open during that therefore the panic during ‘Chanel No. 5’ but that was fun love you so much,” she wrote across the selfie featured in the TikTok video.

But Cabello didn’t let the slip-up ruin her concert. The singer shared a sweet message to fans on X after the show, along with several photos from the night that showed off the rest of her outfit. In addition to the top, Cabello’s fit featured bow-adorned fingerless gloves, a pink chainmail mini skirt, and satiny pink knee-high combat boots.

“What a way to start the asia leg of the yours, c tour!!” she wrote to fans. “I love you and thank you I love you and thank you I love you and thank you!!!!!!!! forever 💓”

Cabello is far from the only singer who’s been handling onstage wardrobe malfunctions recently.

Last month, Jennifer Lopez was ringing in her 56th birthday at a concert stop in Warsaw, Poland, when her skirt dropped to the floor during a crowd rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Promptly after the mishap, the pop star smiled and strutted around the stage.

“I’m out here in my underwear,” she said before tossing the skirt into the audience.

“I’m glad I had underwear on,” she said at the end of the song. “I don’t usually wear underwear.” Then, later, to the fan who caught the garment: “Yes! You can keep it. You can have it. I don’t want it back.”

Luckily, Cabello was able to keep her corset on!

Cabello’s Yours, C tour kicked off on June 28, in support of her fourth studio album, C, XOXO. The tour comprises seventeen dates so far across Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America, marking her first concert tour in seven years. The tour will conclude in São Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 14.
