Caitlin Clark isn’t playing in the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend, but she’s still managing to dominate headlines.
The Indiana Fever rookie was voted an All-Star captain by fans after leading the league in total votes, but a lingering groin injury kept her sidelined for both the 3-point contest and the game itself. Despite that, Clark made an appearance to support fellow players, and a short clip of her entering the arena with boyfriend Connor McCaffrey quickly grabbed attention online.
As the two walked in together, McCaffrey appeared to lean in for a kiss. Clark pulled back slightly, avoiding the moment in front of the cameras. It was just a few seconds, but fans online turned it into a full-blown debate.

“No PDA today,” one fan joked on social media.
“Super awk,” another wrote.
“That was awkward.” added someone else.
“Her looking away had me rolling,” another said.
Plenty of viewers chimed in with their own takes, most calling it a weird or uncomfortable exchange. Others chalked it up to Clark simply keeping her personal life out of the spotlight.

As for her status on the court, the timeline for Clark’s return remains unclear. She’s already missed 11 games this year due to two groin injuries and a quad issue. So far this season, she’s averaging 16.5 points, 5 rebounds, and nearly 9 assists per game.
The Fever’s next game comes Tuesday night against the New York Liberty. Whether or not Clark plays, you can count on the spotlight staying right where it is.
