Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy won’t be available on Friday.
McAvoy, 27, is at home due to a personal matter and thus will miss a divisional matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena, per team announcement.
The Bruins will also be without forward Casey Mittelstadt, who is sidelined due to a lower-body injury sustained during a knee-on-knee collision in Thursday’s game against the Ottawa Senators, and forward John Beecher, who suffered an upper-body injury in the same game.
McAvoy has been a points machine lately, chipping in eight assists across the last eight games while also logging 21 shots on goal, 24 blocked shots and 24 total hits. Mason Lohrei, who has been a healthy scratch during the club’s current five-game win streak, will return to the lineup and pair with Jonathan Aspirot. Henri Jokiharju will play with Nikita Zadorov, while Hampus Lindholm will remain with Andrew Peeke.
Jeffrey Viel will draw back in on the fourth line with Sean Kuraly and Mikey Eyssimont while Alex Steeves will make his team debut on the second line alongside Pavel Zacha and Viktor Arvidsson.
